HLW is updating their corporate security policies to help keep your data safe! Here is some more information on what Workspace ONE is, and why we’re making the change:
Q. What is Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub?
A. VMware Workspace ONE® Intelligent Hub is a single app the allows you to securely access, discover, stay connected, and be productive from anywhere. By installing a profile which manages only HLW applications like Outlook, or Teams, Workspace ONE gives us the tools needed to properly manage data retention and loss management.
Q. What are the benefits of Workspace ONE to the employee?
A. There are several employee benefits for using Workspace ONE.
Enter your password once and you have access to all your apps and corporate websites, without having to login to VPN or sign in to each app individually.
Stay connected with colleagues by accessing the corporate directory, employee details, and organization chart.
Access company resources from anywhere.
Q. I am new to Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub. How do I get this app on my phone?
A. Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub is available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Simply download like any other app.
Q. How do I learn more about Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub?
A. You can find out more at https://whatisworkspaceone.com/intelligenthub/
Q. How do I get started using Workspace ONE?
A. We’re working on creating a guide that HLW employees can reference for a step-by-step walkthrough of the process. Please check back later.
Q. Who do I contact for technical support?
A. If you need any assistance you can contact the HLW IT Team by emailing helpdesk@hlw.com of filling out a support request here.
Q. Can my company see anything personal, like my apps, photos, videos or texts?
A. No, absolutely not. Your personal data and information stay completely separate and are not able to be accessed by Workspace ONE. Only corporate apps and data that you choose to have on your device will be managed. A prompt will notify you when Workspace ONE requests to manage/install an app and you can view which apps are managed from within your device settings.
Q. Can my IT department track my location through my phone?
A. No, Workspace ONE does not have the ability to see your location data.
Q. How do my personal apps stay separate from my work apps?
A. Technology known as “Application containerization” provides an “iron curtain” of separation between personal and corporate data. Companies cannot access or manage apps or data that are housed outside of the corporate container.
Q. What happens if I choose not enroll in Workspace ONE on my personal device? Will I lose any mobile functionality?
A. Yes, moving forward as part of HLW’s data security policy the IT team will be enforcing use of Workspace ONE on any mobile device that contains HLW data. This could be Outlook emails, Teams chats, Excel files (or any other Microsoft applications tethered to your HLW email), OneDrive files, Sharepoint sites, and anything else that connects to HLW’s servers.
Q. Where can I find the complete user policy?
A. Wilson is working on the policy and it will be available for all employees to view shortly. Please check back later.
Q. What happens if I leave the company?
A. If you leave the company, your IT administrator is required to remove access to all corporate data and apps. This can be done while preserving personal data. For example, should you leave the company, the company will perform a selective wipe of your personal device to remove access to corporate resources, leaving your personal data, including photos, and other files unaltered.
Q. What happens if I lose my phone?
A. If you lose your phone, be sure to report it to the IT department immediately so they can remove access to corporate data immediately.
Q. What if I decide I no longer want Workspace ONE on my device – is it easy to remove?
A. Yes, you have total control over your device. You have the ability to completely remove corporate apps or the Workspace ONE app from your device within the settings section. As the owner of the device, the control is completely yours. A guide will be made available that will include steps to remove the Workspace ONE profile.
