Follow these steps in order to map a network drive to a Sharepoint resource

  1. Open Internet Explorer and navigate to BLUE

    1. Only Internet Explorer will work for this guide

  2. Sign in to your HLW email and if prompted, click “Stay Signed In”

    1. If any prompts appear asking to add a website to your “Trusted Sites” click Yes

  3. Once signed in, get the URL for the sharepoint directory you want to share. This only works with the highest parent folder in the directory

    1. (e.g. You can map to https://hlwarchitecture.sharepoint.com/sites/HUB/Design%20Resources for Design Resources, but cannot map to Quality Control Templates, which is a folder inside of Design Resources)

  4. Trim the URL to get rid of anything after the main directory. For example, when navigating to Design Resources you are given this URL: https://hlwarchitecture.sharepoint.com/sites/HUB/Design%20Resources/Forms/AllItems.aspx?viewid=383008d8%2Def9e%2D4a67%2D975f%2Dbd273c969eb0
which needs to be trimmed. Remove everything at the end, starting at “/Forms/” to get the URL mentioned in Step 3.

  5. Open a File Explorer window and right-click Network or This PC to select “Map Network Drive”

  6. Select a Drive letter that is not already in use from the drop-down menu, paste the URL in the Folder textbox, and check both boxes for “Reconnect at sign-in” and “Connect using different credentials”, then click Finish

  7. Enter your HLW email and password in the boxes to sign in and select Remember my credentials, then click OK

  8. Now the connection will appear below This PC within the drive letter you chose in Step 6.
